How to Become a NH ODP Coach

NH ODP COACHING STAFF QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:
All NH ODP Staff Coaches are appointed by the NH ODP State Director of Coaching, and are subject to the approval of the NHSA Executive Board. To be considered for a position as a NH ODP Staff Head Coach a candidate:
  1. must first abide by and uphold the "NHSA Code of Ethics" and have a demonstrative history of such a standard of behavior;
  2. must hold at minimum a USSF "C" License (a USSF "A" License is recommended), or an equivalent license and be actively working to attain USSF certification within two years (i.e. a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and/or a recognized FIFA equivalent);
  3. must have soccer playing experience at a high level (at least collegiate and/or semi-professional recommended);
  4. must have coaching experience; and
  5. must come well recommended.
A State Assistant Coach, an Associate State Staff Coach, or a District Coach must posses all of the above qualifications, with the exception of licensing requirements, but must be actively working towards USSF certification (it is recommended that District Coaches possess at least a USSF "D" License and/or a National Youth License).

The NH Olympic Development Program is pleased to announce a new initiative - the ODP STAFF COACH MENTOR PROGRAM. As a means to attract new coaches to the ODP Staff, this program is designed to allow qualified coaches to "apprentice" with an ODP Head Coach for a season, as an assistant or associate ODP coach. There are only a few spots available each season in this program; coaches must typically have a high level of playing experience (college), some coaching experience, and at least a "D" License or NSCAA equivalent to qualify.

In general, the NH ODP is always interested in attracting and recruiting new and qualified coaches to the ODP Coaching Staff.
